E031 Pay period end date is missing

How to fix a contribution submission that's missing the required pay period end date.

What this means: You've submitted a contribution file, but it doesn't include a pay period end date, which is required for contributions.

Why this might happen: You may have uploaded an enrolment-only file for a contribution submission, or the pay period fields aren't populated in the export.

What to do

  1. Confirm this file is intended for contribution processing

  2. Check that the relevant date field is present:
    PAPDIS: PayPeriodEndDate · NEST: Earnings Period End Date (header) · NOW:Pensions: PAYSTART + PAYFREQ · Access Pay & Bill: Tax Period + Scheme Ref (header)

  3. Update your export and resubmit
