How to Opt Out

Workplace Pension - Opting Out

Updated today

If your employer has recently switched to Jarvis as their workplace pension provider, they are required by law to enroll all employees into the new pension scheme – but don’t worry, you can choose to opt out if you prefer.

How to opt out

To opt out, simply follow the instructions in the enrollment email you received from Jarvis. At the bottom of the email, you will find a link and instructions on how to opt out. See below for a screenshot highlighting the section of the email with the opt-out link.

Once you have completed the process, Jarvis will notify your employer. If you’re still within your opt-out window, your employer will handle the rest and refund any contributions you've made.

Opt out period ended

In some cases, you may realise that your opt out period has already ended.

Every employee is given a one-time opt-out window when they’re first enrolled into a workplace pension scheme. In your case, that window would have started when your employer initially enrolled you with the previous provider. Even though your employer has now switched to Jarvis, that original opt-out window does not reset with the change in provider.

If you’d prefer not to have any future pension contributions made into Jarvis, you can choose to cease contributions. To do this, you'll need to do the following:

  1. Download the Jarvis app

  2. Log in with your email address

  3. Tap the menu icon in the top left corner.

  4. Click on 'Workplace Jar' and select the workplace scheme

  5. Select 'Request To Leave Scheme'

This will send a notification to your employer who will action this for you.

If you have any questions about opting out, stopping contributions, or refunds, it’s best to reach out directly to your employer, as Jarvis doesn’t manage this.
