When a contribution shows as “pending” in your workplace pension jar, it usually means your employer has instructed the payment, but we haven’t received the funds yet.
Under UK auto-enrolment rules, employers must pay contributions by the 22nd of the month after payday if sending them electronically.
For example:
If you’re paid in April, your employer has until 22 May to send the money across.
As your employer has recently switched pension providers, this can sometimes cause a short delay, but they’re still expected to make the payment as soon as possible.
Once we receive the funds, the status will change from “pending” to “completed” and you’ll see the contribution allocated.
If it’s been a few days past the 22nd and the status hasn’t updated, it’s worth checking in with your employer to confirm when payment was made.
